The Chinese Vision of the Body: Characters for the Body
The body – a single word in our languages – is, in Chinese, named by several characters. Each of them shows a specific aspect of what we call plainly body.
We will present an analysis of each character : how it is written, its uses and meanings in the classical texts of medicine and philosophy. We will propose and explain some texts which illustrate the specificity of each designation and its relationship with the others.
Through this study, another way to look at the body than the usual western way will appear, with its integration in the whole Chinese culture.Lieferung besteht aus einer DVD.
